Upcoming events promoted by Active Archives

Active Archives are happy to announce two intriguing upcoming events:

1. The Art of Liberation : Before & After The Bristol Bus Boycott

Commemorative walk September 30th

At the end of August artist Oshii led a fantastic collage art placard workshop which included a very informative and inspirational presentation on the history political posters and their composition.

Work made by Oshii and work made at the workshop will feature alongside other interventions on a commemorative walk taking place on September 30th.

Meeting outside the cafe area of St Pauls Learning Centre at 11 am we invite participants to come dressed as their most inspirational revolutionary in history or in 1960s clothing!

This is a free event but booking is required via headfirst or email activearchivestours@gmail.com

2. Autumntide Seminary

We have another Seminary instalment following the success of the Summertide Seminary back in June. The Autumntide Seminary will take place on October 7th.

Recall Release Resist.

Discovering the Afrikan presence in Bristol’s historic buildings will start at and with a tour of The Red Lodge Museum, then onto The Georgian House for a view of our Akan inspired intervention. After a short break we will then take a meditative & reflective walk passing the River Avon to the historic Ashton Court Mansion for a Benin inspired fusion lunch, music and discussion.

Tickets can be purchased here.

Please do support by attending or encouraging others to attend both or either of the events.

For those who missed the Summertide Seminary, here is a short video capturing elements of the week.
